I wanted to take a moment to personally address you and provide some clarity on all the exciting changes we’ve been making to our products. There’s been a lot of buzz lately, and understandably, many of you have questions about how these updates might affect your workflow and what you can expect moving forward. So, I thought it best to summarize everything in one place.
First and foremost, we’ve just launched Colourlab AI 3 Pro—a major release that includes a brand-new matching engine, a plugin that integrates seamlessly with DaVinci Resolve, and a new floating license server that allows you to match on any system.
What makes this really cool is that the plugin itself doesn’t require a direct license—it’s all managed remotely through the server. This means you can run it on as many systems as you need, with the only limit being two simultaneous matching sessions. Colourlab AI Pro also includes Look Designer and GrainLab, and these will be licensed in exactly the same way, at no extra cost.
If you’re an existing Colourlab AI 2 Pro customer or Studio customer, this upgrade is completely free for you. That’s right—you now have access to Colourlab AI 3 Pro, Look Designer, and GrainLab at no additional cost. We’re also keeping the pricing the same at $39 a month for pro and $49 for Studio, so you’re not paying more for these additional tools.
For those of you who purchased perpetual licenses, rest assured—you’re also getting this upgrade without paying a dime. Your software is already waiting for you in your downloads folder.
Now, for our loyal Colourlab AI v3 beta customers, we’ve got something special in store. If you’ve submitted feedback or provided a testimonial, please check your email for a unique offer. If you haven’t yet, I encourage you to reach out directly to me to learn more about it. To activate Colourlab AI 3 Pro, all you need to do is download the trial, test it, and provide feedback. In return, we’ll reward you with another annual license of Colourlab AI 3 Pro.
Why the emphasis on feedback? Simply put, your insights are essential to us. The reason we offer beta discounts is because we genuinely need your input. If we don’t hear from you, we won’t know what’s working or what needs improvement. In the future, feedback will be a requirement for beta participation.
Speaking of the future, there’s a lot to look forward to. Next week, we’ll be releasing TinMan, which is still in beta. While it’s showing a lot of promise, we’re working through some performance issues and want to make sure you have a smooth experience when it’s finally ready.
Following that, we’re excited to introduce Film Lab AI, which is a rebranding of Colour Pro. Even we were getting confused between Colour Pro and Colourlab AI Pro, so we’ve secured the name Film Lab AI to help differentiate the two. Your licenses will stay the same, and the only thing that will change is the name of the software in your downloads folder.
Lastly, for Film Lab AI users, we’re offering a 50% discount if you want to add Colourlab AI Pro to your setup. Since you already own all the plugins, all you need is the OFX plugin, which is why we’re providing this special pricing for you.
