Join the 'Falling in LOVE with COLOR' Contest

About The Competition

Here at HQ, we love to see incredible work created with our application. Our vision has always been to build a tool that would assist in artistic expression.

You do not need to make any purchase to enter the competition.

Ready to Start?

The premise of the contest is very straightforward Tell us a story through a look. Colourlab Ai Demo is free, and it is quick to learn and fun to use, and you don't have to be a professional colorist to enter. It comes with a series of training tutorials and examples for look creation.

All contestants are going to be using the same footage. This way, the winner will not be the person with better or more expensive production, but someone with strong ideas and execution. The footage for the sample project is provided by RAW.FILM and is licensed for this contest. You may not use the footage for any other purpose. You may share your Look Deck created with Colourlab Ai on social media provided you tag and @rawfilmstock.

We have included in the sample project a variety of shots with no particular context and story. It is your job to come up with a compelling idea and express it through a look. You can pick any shot from the Sample sequence for your hero look.
While it looks simple on the surface, Colourlab Ai is an entirely different color grading application compared to any software out there. Architecturally, it is more similar to the Tesla AutoPilot than Color Grading software. At first, it might appear limiting, but there is so much more to discover. Your creativity counts.
Ai Match is an entirely new tool, and you did not have a chance to play with it before. It looks at the images and drives the controls for you. It will let you use any still image as a reference and help you extract its look DNA and lend itself to the source with a completely new meaning.
The use of reference images is highly encouraged, which is why it takes only one click to take you to the world’s biggest database for film research and education – Shot Deck. There you will be able to find countless sources of inspiration. But do not be limited to cinematic content alone. You can use any images that you find inspiring.
Working with different Matching Models is an integral part of interaction with the Ai Match engine. You are presented with an array of options and models that operate on different premise and offer different results
Do not hesitate to give your look that final touch by continuing where Ai Match stops. Use manual controls to fine-tune the result. You can use LUTs, and Colourlab Ai comes with a library of analog film stocks used by some of Hollywood biggest colorists. You can also import your own custom LUTs as well.
Do not just try to copy a look from one famous movie or another. This is not what we are looking for. We are interested in your original idea and your unique look, reference images, and declaration of intent.
It is an essential part of your submission. This is where you will describe your idea and your creative intent. Judges will value your execution but will look in relation to these few sentences.

Colourlab Ai Demo Version has a great feature called Look Deck. It creates a beautiful look pdf with reference look, palette, your name, remaining shots in the sequence, and reference images used.

Please note – Only one submission per candidate. Please see our complete Terms & Conditions here.
